The Story

The Story

“To Catch A Nut” is the story of Emmy, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery through intimacy and pleasure. Fresh out of a long-time, secure but unsatisfying relationship, she moves to the big city. Her new job at a prop shop for film and theater finally puts her on the path to her dream career: art direction for cinema. Good for her!

But with all these big moves, things feel new, sometimes fun, sometimes just plain weird. Good thing she’s not judgmental (though she’s definitely not one to hold her tongue).

Each episode follows Emmy as she goes with the flow; on dates, near-dates, and everything in between. Whether she’s trying to fill a post-breakup void or just looking for some genuinely good sex, her adventures offer a raw look at what she truly wants. And by the end of it all… let’s just say she’ll know herself a lot better.

Emmy

Emmy is a 25-year-old woman trying to make a living in the big city while chasing her dream of becoming an art director for major films. She’s what you might call artsy—and a little bit fartsy. She’s expressive but not performative; she dresses for herself, not for the show.

Creative, warm, and slightly chaotic, Emmy carries an earnestness that’s rare in a city full of noise. Her dreams are big, but her pockets are even bigger—not with cash, but overflowing with crumpled receipts for props she still needs to return and a trusty sketchbook that’s never far from her side.

She’s no manic pixie dream girl. She’s the one who stayed up all night debating whether “Lemon Zest” or “Buttercup” better captured the existential mood of the scene—because for her, choosing a paint color isn’t just design; it’s narrative alchemy, a way of telling stories without saying a word.
